MOSCOW, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- Big Russian mobile operator MegaFon has become a partner of U.S. video game developer and publisher Blizzard Entertainment, and the companies plan to win clients with free traffic, among others, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday.

MegaFon launched portal MegaFon Games on Wednesday, and Blizzard Entertainment has become the operator’s first partner. A MegaFon spokesperson told the daily that the operator’s subscribers will be able to buy Blizzard games and pay for access to its service Battle.net from a mobile phone account.

The operator later intends to provide free traffic for games and services of Blizzard that are available on mobile platforms.

Blizzard Entertainment works with a great deal of regional partners all over the world, including mobile operators, but the cooperation with MegaFon has been the first of such kind for the Russian telecom industry.

The U.S. company is known for multiplayer online role-playing games World of Warcraft and Overwatch, series Diablo, and online card game Hearthstone.
